Try as I might, I can’t stop the sun from getting closer, the days from lengthening and, damnit, the snow from melting. So we’re trying to get the best we can out of the remaining days of the ski season. The tradition that we were trying to start after last year, that of doing the Vancouver Sun Run in the morning and skiing in the afternoon has been thwarted we’ve found out since stupid Cypress is closing (despite currently having more snow than Whistler by a hefty margin) this upcoming weekend, a full week before the race. Perhaps it is for the best since I can’t imagine the muscle repercussions of racing, skiing and then sitting on an airplane for 12 hours as we fly to Scotland the next day.
Edge cards renewed for the next season we seized the opportunity to ski the rest of the season for $90. It’s almost enough to make one regret that they are traveling through Europe for three weeks.
It’s been 10,000 years; aren’t we due for another ice age already?
I suppose, then, that I must content myself with future days of lying on the beach. But not yet.
