storm the wall

I have a bruised left-hand side collarbone. I have a minimally torn-up right elbow. I have a t-shirt that is quite muddy on the shoulders. I have the numbers ‘604′ stenciled on my left upper arm and my right calf. And, I have my first victory over this year’s Storm the Wall

We were in the very first heat on the very first day of the 2006 Storm season (this morning) and whether we were actually the first team to get over the wall is still under debate but, even if we weren’t, we were damn close.

We had practiced the wall once before (yesterday) and I was amazed at how much easier I got up there today. Factor in the testosterone/adrenaline rush from the sprint (my leg) and that might have something to do with it, perhaps.

Team Alleycats flew through the swim-sprint-bike-run-wall combo in 20min 8sec :)

Although we were in the Just for Fun category I think, once we realized how competitive our time was, we were somewhat regretting not going for the gold but, oh well, it was a great time.
