Talk Without Speaking

A stellar day up on the slopes on Saturday. I had planned to pounce just as soon as the rain/snow stopped and the sun came out and this plan worked perfectly. Whole morning spent on Seventh Heaven with Ryan and Sophie and three of Sophie’s friends, Catherine, Danielle and Christine. After lunch we decided to seize the moment while we had the energy and headed up to the Blackcomb glacier. Sometimes the glacier can be hit or miss but…wow…on Saturday it was spectacular. I felt like I was coasting through the softest of mattresses; when I stopped to take it all in all I could say to myself was Oh. My. God.

Yes, there were moments when it was too powerful and the pain threatened to come. There were moments when I had to focus on something else or it would just overwhelm. Even through that I could hear my dad saying, “I’m so happy you’re there. I’m so glad that you’re alive and living your life. I’m so happy that you’re having this day”.

I seized the day because that’s what he told me to do.
