apple tv 5 seconds

Ok, I’ll admit it, no bitching was necessary. I mean, sure, there was some features that are still missing like time travel, teleportation, and still no printing your own money but the new iPod makes me drool. Anyone want to buy a 10GB 3rd gen iPod? :) I swear, Apple’s marketing team must hang out in my apartment (or my brain) deciding how to promote their new products. Not just an exclusive U2 video (it just had to be Origin of the Species, didn’t it?) but also tied to my latest addiction, that of Lost episodes. Come on…give me a break.

Lost..oh..what can I say? If you haven’t been watching then go..now…watch. Really. Before I sit you down and force you to watch all..what…29 episodes. I realize that I’ve been guilty of being slightly excited about other shows and perhaps shouted their greatness to anyone who would listen but Lost really is amazing. With the rapid descent of Alias (that was worse than removing Mulder off the X-files), Amazing Race (when you have a completely successful show that is gaining in viewership every session you do not mess with the recipe) and even, gasp, ER (as much as I was not ready to say goodbye I think this was one season too many, my friends), Lost is completely filling a void. I’ve invested a little too much in Alias to give up on it completely although things look like I’m heading in that direction. If that occurs then Lost will be my 1 hour of TV per week. 5…4…3…2…1. Ok.

5 seconds. That’s how long Jack allows himself to give into his fear. In those 5 seconds he lets it completely dictate his actions and just allows himself to be completely paralyzed. But, once those 5 seconds are up, he forces himself to move, to act and he puts the fear aside. It’s a worthwhile strategy and one that I’m trying to adopt. I’m not there yet.

Did you get a distinct “Dogget and Reyes” feeling from the last episode of Alias? Hmph.

Am on episode 6 of Lost. Has not reached the frenzied pitch of early-on Alias obsession, but I sense something building…Maybe Lost IS the last hope for TV. No more Survivor or Amazing Race, and I am pre-emptively mourning the demise of Alias. I will let you know when I am full-fledged obsessing about Lost.

actually, i gave this week’s Alias episode 5 redemption points. it’s enough to get me to next week. i thought it was funny how, after every season, they’ve been saying, “we’re going to go back to the basics” and now they really *have* because they’re just duplicating the same show over again! This way Alias can live on FOREVER!!!!
