Somethings can’t really be explained. The feeling is too great, too grand. You won’t feel the way that I do and so what’s the point in trying to explain just how great it was. Everytime I have felt like there is no way to beat it and, again, I proved myself wrong this time.
So, U2 in Vancouver for *3* nights in a row. The first night was when they announced on the radio that they were looking for extras to help them film the City of Blinding Lights video. That was about as intimate as it’s going to get with a band like U2; a mere 3300 people. The highlight, surely never to be duplicated, was singing the Hokey Pokey with Bono.
Night #2 was the insanity that is general admission along with 2 hours of sleep. I was in time warp all day long; despite how much I was looking forward to the show, the day just flew by. I couldn’t believe how everything just worked out after everything was said and done. Laurren managing to muscle herself through the entire GA crowd was supernatural! We were right up against the rails with a couple thousand fellow fans pressing behind us, smoking hot, dripping sweat with only the greatest band in the world to distract us
Night #3 was utterly fantastic. To be honest, when I took my nosebleed seat I had to wonder what we were doing and I looked longingly down at the crush of people. However, once the concert started all my worries got danced and screamed away. Being there with Jay, Laurren and Deb was magic and we were a force of pure hysterics in our seat section. Not even the group of people who were sitting down through the concert could even remotely deter us.
All in all, it really was the perfect combination. Getting as close as you can possibly get on the first night and then being able to relax and just dance and fully embrace the music on the second night.
Now I’m left with slight post concert blues. I’m just trying to focus on the next time I get to see them. Should I take it as an escalating sign that they are actually playing *4* nights in Toronto in September. Someone stop me. Ok, don’t.
Fantastic
oh, are you a u2 fan?
