Been sicky sick these last couple of days - this really bites. I want my sickness-preventing tonsils back! (or is that just an old-wives tail?)
Made a couple of cool changes to by little blogging project in the last couple of days although you could very easily be exccused for not noticing them. My largest beef with pMachine was the missing functionality to be able to see my most recent comments. Although I can see the total number of comments on any of the main pages I couldn’t tell which post they were referring to. At times, especially is someone had made a comment on a really old post, this could take me a long time to track down and was really tedious. Thanks to Lynda Giddens I found a “recent comments” pMachine add-on which really does the trick. I wrapped that around the php-pulled total comment number on the main page (but no others).
The other change (and ever less apparent) is that I changed my RSS feed so that it’s done in RSS 2.0 which is thanks to another customized script by Lynda. The only way you’d really notice this is if you, for some reason, subscribe to the rss feed for this page. The great thing about this is that it allows for formatting a la HTML and even displays any images that I choose to throw into a post. For some reason that I have yet to track down, web browsers don’t like my new RSS feed resulting in an XML parsing error. News readers handle it fine though which is the whole point here unless you love reading XML (and should therefore be hospitalized). Oh, so cool and also a great solution to something that has been really annoying me of late.
Off to drown myself in orange juice and vitamin C.
