Talk Without Speaking

So while I was browsing my NetNewsWire feeds I cam across an article that mentioned that Apple was selling refurbished iPods from the Apple Store Sweet! I’ve been keeping my eyes glued to eBay for the last few days trying to find a good bargain. This looked right up my alley.

So, off I got to the Apple Store and start the process and am doing just fine until I realize that I need to enter a State and ZIP - no way around this. So I call up the Apple Store and tell them that I would like to purchase one of their refurbished products. This all goes well until they catch on that I am a Canadian trying to buy from the U.S. store. Although it makes no sense to me that I shouldn’t be able to purchase one of the iPods, I might as well be from Tatooine for all the help they are trying not to give me. I get quickly shut down.

In a fit of hope, and frustrated amusement I even called back later to see if I could get a different CSR and maybe use the Jedi Mind Trick in order to buy the iPod. No Dice. They tell me that, since I am Canadian, I need to buy from the Canadian version of the Apple Store which makes perfect sense until you realize that these AREN’T LISTED on the Canadian site (ARGHHH!).

Apple. Sometimes I hate to love them.

So, any U.S. citizens want to buy an iPod for me?
