Talk Without Speaking

So, I’ve never done one of these before but hey, what the hell, it’s 3:12am and why not. Only three more hours of listening to the phone not ring. Here is my friday five

1. What’s the last place you traveled to, outside your own home state/country?
Well, I don’t have a home state, I have a home province. But outside province would be to Baffin Island in Nunavut, Canada’s newest territory. Out of country…hmm…last time would have been this time, last year, when I drove across Canada and then went down to Boston, USA.

2. What’s the most bizarre/unusual thing that’s ever happened to you while traveling?
Hmm…bitten my poisonous spider in Simpson Desert, Australia?
Have a drunk artist hand us his laptop to look at his stuff and then pass out - train from Bern, Switzerland to Vienna, Austria? (we didn’t steal it)
Pink Palace - Corfu, Greece? (if you’ve been there, you know it qualifies)
Having hot chick ask if she could sit on my shoulders - during U2 concert, Auckland, New Zealand? (it was a great night!)
Having airport employee ask me to buy duty-free goods for him after making unplanned emergency landing - Tonga, South Pacific (somewhere)

3. If you could take off to anywhere, money and time being no object, where would you go?
Nepal has been very high on Catherine’s and my list. Now that things have settled down with regards to the guerilla fighting we’re starting to re-visit the idea. That’s probably #1.

4. Do you prefer traveling by plane, train or car?
Trains rule! Comfort.

5. What’s the next place on your list to visit?
I’m still stuck up north to be honest. I’d love to get back to Auyuittuq National Park but we’ll see what happens.
