Talk Without Speaking

So, it was Ultimate night tonight and it was the first night of playoffs. For some reason that I can’t figure out they leave Spirit out of the playoffs in that there are no Spirit points awarded (for those of you who do not play Ultimate, Spirit points are issued from one team to another independent of the actual game’s score - they are awarded for good sportsmanship, teammanship and stuff like that (if you ask me, other sports should incorporate this concept)).

In any event, here we are in C league (recreational) playoffs. One of the teams we played tonight had a guy who has never played on their team before now AND it turns out that he either does or did play on Canada’s national Ultimate team. Now, please, tell me how that is even remotely fair. Sure, it was nice to see him play but if I’m playing in a recreational league I am doing so because I do not want to play against either professionals or freakin olympians.

Needless to say we got viciously smoked.

My feet hurt.
