Talk Without Speaking

I’m trying to get into the habit of simply taking the camera with me everywhere I go. So many times I find myself with an excellent photo to take and no camera to take it with; a common woe, I imagine.

Tonight we went down to The Urban Well for John’s birthday party. It it, as far as I remember, the third year in a row we’ve been here (not that my memory is to be trusted - but that’s what others said). Anyway, took this picture nearby.

I’m working on some cool php/sql code so that you’ll be able to click on pictures and see larger versions with captions and all that good stuff but I’m not quite there and I really don’t feel like digging into my JavaScript archives to figure out how to do it the old way. After a couple of magically frustrating hours I think I’m on the right track now so I should be able to have this implemented in the next couple of days.

This caught my eye outside of the restaurant and had to be shot (photographically, that is).

You can’t likely read what the sign above the mini says (unless you have supernatural vision). It reads, “Please do not feed, tease or annoy the mini”. Reminds me of the “Happy Fun Ball” from SNL a million years ago. Anyone remember that? “Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball!”. lol.

We were trying to make it to good Ryan’s band that was playing tonight but we ended up running late. evil Ryan and I ended up going out and playing pool til 1 in the morning. Man, I haven’t played pool in SO long; it was barrels of fun.
