A couple of interesting things to say. The first (and likely most apparent) is that I just changed the style sheet for my site, the new primary font is ‘gill sans light’ which, if you’re a Windows user, is likely not even noticeable. To be honest, I haven’t the foggiest clue if Gill Sans Light is even a Windows font. Oh well, so sad. Since no one looks at this sight more than me (at least I hope so - I don’t *think* I have any secret stalkers) I just figured that I might as well go for it.
Gill Sans Light came about as I messed around endlessly with style sheets at work today - trying to pick a style sheet for our web based order entry system - basically what I do all day long. It’s so wonderful having control over what font you’re going to be spending 8 hours every day reading (and writing).
The second thing that I wanted to mention is JAlbum. JAlbum is the most amazing tool I have ever come across for building web sites out of images. If you have jumped on the digital photography bandwagon and are building web page galleries from your images then you’re going to want to run (don’t walk) and grab this software. Amazingly, it’s free and being Java based (that’s what the J in JAlbum is for) it’s cross platform. Go. Grab. Download. Play.
