So, I have been trying to help out this fellow who is quite new to the whole computer age. He runs a company and, after shelling out the big bucks, has been quite keen on learning how to take care of his own site by himself.

I’m glad that he’s really enthusiastic about learning all this stuff and I worry that the stuff that I throw at him is going to seem far too over-whelming. I think back and try to remember about how I learned all this stuff and I suppose that it was, like anything, one step at a time.

Do we tackle HTML first, or simply deal with a WYSIWYG editor. I need him to gain the confidence that it takes in order to start hacking into a web page by yourself - fooling with the contents, seeing how your edits have changed the page and then going from there.

I downloaded his entire site tonight using Web Devil and then burned it onto CD for him. He gave me $20. Now that he has a local version of his site the next step is going to get him some kind of editor that he is going to have to learn so that he can hack them up. I hate to suggest FrontPage but don’t know what other alternatives there are out there for those poor PC users.
